Who is in the cast?
The good news is that the entire original cast is on board for the new episodes. That means Bobby Brown's Eleven Millie, Finn Wolfhard's Mike, Winona Ryder's Joyce, Schnappa's Will Noah, Caleb Mclaughlin's Lucas, Matarazzo's Dustin Gatena, Natalia Dyer's Nancy, Charlie Heaton's Jonathan and fan favorite Joe Keery (Steve) are ready to return.
Season 2 extras Max (Sadie Sink) and Billy (Dacre Montgomery) will return, but sadly Sean Astin's Bob...he's not ready to talk about it.

As for the new additions, Maya Thurman-Hawke (Uma and Ethan's daughter), fresh from last year's BBC adaptation of Little Women, will bejoin the main cast as Robin, a new character who discovers a "dark secret" in Hawkins.
Given Thurman-Hawke's age (he's 19), we suspect he'll be part of the older kids' peers alongside characters like Jonathan and Nancy - but what could this "dark secret" be? Is she the only one revealing the events of the first two seasons of Stranger Things, or something new? And can his character finally become a new love for the abandoned Steve?
Storm Troopers star Jake Busey and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) have also been added to the roster.as new characters, Bruce and Mayor Kline, respectively, and Haters Back Off's Francesca Reale will play Heather, a community rescuer who becomes the target of a "dark secret."
Plus, Lucas's sarcastic sister Erica (played by Priah Ferguson) will have a much bigger role. According to a statement from Netflix, it will start at 1am for season three."a wild quest to save Hawkins from a dangerous and unexpected new threat."

5 weird Stranger Things fan theories based on season 3 episode titles
In recent interviews, the cast has hinted that there will be more horror and violence than ever before.
"It's definitely bloodier," said Gaten Matarazzo. “If you don't like blood, I watch it anyway. It's not for the faint of heart, as some claim."
Noah Schnapp also revealed that Will Byers is still not done with his time at Upside Down…
"Will still has a monster presence, and you see what's going on there," said actor Noah Schnapp. "People are asking, 'Will this season take a break? And I thought, 'Yeah, sure, for the first two episodes. And then nobody really has a break."

Stranger Things season 2 featured A LOT more loose endings than the first, with the portal to the Upside Down now closed, Hawkins' lab seemingly closed for good, andJonathan and Nancy finally meet (Poor Steve).
However, Snowball's childhood idyll was spoiled by the so-calledlast photo in the series, in which the diabolical Smoke Monster terrorizing our heroes (also known as the Mind Flayer) lands on the roof of the school in the parallel dimension Upside Down, ready to take revenge for his defeat in the season finale.
we know it existsnew shopping center in Hawkins, which will likely become the kids' hangout in season 3. Steve Harrington got a job there at an ice cream parlor with new girlfriend Robin - and in this trailer, you can cut the sexual tension between them with a knife (okay, you can't - but we think there's a good chance that the two are romantically intertwined in the new season).
Meanwhile, a new behind-the-scenes book, Worlds Turned Upside Down, confirms that the series is set in 1985, less than a year after the events of season two.
"This really is the last summer of their childhood," says Ross Duffer in the book. “They have to deal with growing up, with these complicated new relationships. They're starting to fall apart a bit and maybe they don't like playing Dungeons & Dragons as much as they used to. It's a conflict."
That's what executive producer Shawn Levy saidsplendorback in January, Season 3 is said to be "dealing with the new forces of evil," but an interview with the Duffer Brothers suggests the usual inverted monsters will likely still be in the picture.
"They've closed the door on Mind Flayer, but not only is he still in the Upside Down, he's very aware of the kids, and Eleven in particular," Ross Duffer told me.From the Hollywood Reporter.
“I didn't meet her and her powers until the last episode. Now he knows she's there. We wanted to end on an ominous note.

It also seems highly likely that we haven't seen Eleven's newest "sister" Kali/Eight, with the super-powered illusionist who escaped from the police at the end of episode seven and apparently still wants to take Eleven on a revenge mission against the men who hurt them.
Given how abruptly her story ends, we wouldn't be surprised if Kali and her gang of warriors show up in Hawkins to cause trouble next season - and with her amazing powers, we bet she does a lot of damage. More - what about the numbers 1-7, 9-10 and beyond?

The third season is preceded by a new novel, Darkness on the Edge of Town, which explores the backstory of Jim Hopper's boss when he served as a homicide detective in New York City in 1977.
According to a tweet from Netflix, author Adam Christopher's book will feature the stories Hopper tells Eleven.
When Eleven becomes interested in unanswered questions, Hopper is forced to face long-buried secrets. This book - released on June 4 - may contain pertinent information for Season 3…
As for the action in Season 3, Hopper struggles with being a single parent to a telekinetic teenager, prompting him to seek advice from Joyce (Winona Ryder).
"Maybe he can give me some advice on how to deal with being a single parent and how to stop being so controlling," actor David Harbor tells me.Weekly entertainment.
Raising Eleven also seems to have given Hopper a new bad habit: stress eating.
“Hopper is doing a lot of really big action this season. But he's fatter than you've ever seen him, and he's less capable of hurting people, but a little more capable because he's like a giant elephant," Harbor said.
And finally, we were promised more "Daddy Steve" and a continuation of his romance with Dustin.
"We're definitely going to see a little more of Steve Harrington in Season 3, and all I'm saying is, let's not let Father Steve's magic slip away," Levy said. From the Hollywood Reporter.
"I don't want to say too much more, but I literally feel like we went in together and found a gold mine with Steve's dad."
"You're definitely seeing more of it," added Gaven Matarazzo (Dustin) in an interview withweekly entertainment. "That's what I love about Matt and Ross, they know what the fans like and they accept it."
